Calgary Pedestrain Walkway

  • Initial Inspection

Clear expectations are a critical component of a successful project. The initial project inspection gathers all the information needed to provide a detailed quote and a clear scope of work.

This is the third year that Abris has been working on resurfacing the pedway with traffic deck coating and repairing all necessary rot.

  • Detailed Scope and Quote

A clear scope of work will then be written in a way that makes sense to all parties, and all questions will be answered. We are always willing to modify our scope to match the needs of the customer while also ensuring construction standards are met.

This is a tendered project that follows the engineer's specs for repair. The work has been broken out into three steps: demolition and assessment, followed by rot repair and replacement and finally traffic deck coating and cladding reinstatement.

  • Construction Schedule & Updates

To ensure clear expectations and timely solutions are provided, we will present a realistic schedule for all parties to reach project completion. Through coordination with the Property Manager, residents and the condo board.

Scheduling was done in three stages. Demolition, assessment and mobilization took about two months. Rot repair and replacement took around two months. The traffic deck coating and cladding took around two months. Finally, demobilization and project close-out took about a month. All in all, the project took around seven months to complete, and because it was completed in the spring and summer, weather conditions had to be worked around and considered.

  • Project Monitoring

Clear communication is an essential part of Abris’s fundamentals. We will update you on progress, schedules, and changes as they come in and ensure that all work is completed according to the schedule set with the team and the approved scope of work.

Since this project spanned about seven months, keeping the board, engineers, and property managers up to date on what was happening was imperative. Abris sent out a progress update weekly, and the engineers were brought in on a frequent basis as needed.

  • Project Completion

Upon completion of the project, we will always ensure that all parties involved are satisfied with the results.

Upon completion, the site was demobilized, a final site walk-through conducted, a deficiency list prepared, the site cleaned up, and all finishing details ensured to the board's standard.
